A random blog entry

Well, looks like we'll miss Chimaera Thursday event again. Next month perhaps.

We've both been playing a lot of Team Fortress 2.

Normally, I don't play that much first person shooters. But this one is just that damn awesome! I think it's the art style, the animation, the humour, and the ingenious class definition between the 9 classes. The voices really makes character depth where a normal first person shooter would fall short because there is none.

Kelly plays Sniper and Demo a lot.

I think it's because of the accents they have. Sniper is an Aussie. He has an unlockable weapon which are jars of urine he can throw at people. XD

And Demo is a black Scottish cyclops. Apparently he blew up his parents and one of his eyes when he was a kid. Being a Scotsman, he's also a drunk. His melee weapon is a whiskey bottle. When he crits, he shatters the bottle on your head and bring out a new one. XD

Personally, I'm a fan of Spy, Engineer and Pyro. Who doesn't love Pyro? It's a rule that all gas-mask wearing characters from any movie, games or novels are cool. Afterall, that's why I own a gasmask. Because I'm cool. XDDD

TF2 and boredom

Well, I bought Team Fortress 2 for Kelly. But of course her stupid wireless card is too slow for Steam apparently, and it won't log in to install. (>_<)#

So it's on my computer instead. I also go Bioshock for $19, but it also wouldn't run on either computers. But I'm keeping it as I don't know if when it's too old, it won't be in stores anymore and I can't buy it later even if I upgrade my computer.

I need more friends. Especially more friends who plays the same games as me. (^^;;
Between waiting on 56助 to reply and snail mail, playing WoW and now TF2, watching SDF Macross and reinstalling Starcraft, looking up new user produced Vocaloid songs and videos, there's still plenty of time I'm doing nothing. I guess I'm just a boring person. (T_T

Or maybe it's the location. Boring town. Well I got Thursday off. So maybe I can make Chimaera this time, perhaps meet some interesting people to stalk.

Otafest 2009

So today was the first day of the convention Otafest 2009.
I wasn't planning to dress up, but did anyway. No cosplay though.
Kelly works a table at the con and made a ton of monies! And will continue to make more monies tomorrow!
I went around and took some pictures of cosplayers, and watched 2 episodes of the episodic Macross Plus and 2 episodes of MacF before their DVD got screwed up.

There's not as much fat smelly people as I imagined. I guess it's getting better in Calgary.
You can pretty much garanteed that the guys that looks all normal and has a camera is there for PANCHIRA. You'll never find a spot in town with so many young girls in really really short skirts all at the same place at the same time, than at a anime convention. (^_^;;;;;;;;;)

I'll post pictures when I'm not lazy.......

Work is fun. =_= Fiery deaths for all.

My arm was on fire today, at work. (>_<)!

This is what happened:
1) Somehow my pan-flipping towel was soaked in grease/oil.
2) I was making shrimp for the thai shrimp salad. Naturally there's a lot of oil in it to keep it from sticking.
3) Naturally when the heat is high, the pan catches on fire. This is normal.
4) The cloth I was holding the pan with also catches on fire, as does the rest of my grease-film-covered right arm. This is not normal, and very painful.

Luckily, only a minor spot on the back of my wrist got a small blister, the rest of my arm is fine. Since I shave my arm hairs anyway, there's nothing to burn off. But it sure hurt when the fire was on my hand. (>_<)#

魅主9

"You" medley

I'm on a belated "You" trance lately. Too bad my mic is so suck, or else I'd had sang my own already. Oh well, for the time being, go listen to the 2 hour long "You" medley. It's supposedly not even complete yet, maybe it'll be like 5 hours long when it's done.. @_@

For those unacquainted, "You" is a background music song originally on the soundtrack of the visual novel of ひぐらしのなく頃に (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni /When the Cicadas Cry). It got so famous from all the NicoNicoDouga users singing their own versions of it. Then of course, the company that made the game also produced a billion versions for each character. And now everyone knows the song, but doesn't know where it came from.

Cars I would like if I had too much money

Since mecha don't exist in mass production models yet, these neat looking cars will have to do. (if I had a million dollars XD)

This is the Smart Crossblade.

And this is the Piaggio MP3

I'm not really a car person. But these machines just look too awesome. I approve. (^_^)b

Coffee Addiction: Part 2

I think I've gone beyond the addiction as noted in the previous entry.
I'm starting to think that coffee has created within me a separate personality.
When I'm caffeinated, I act and think differently than uncaffeinated.
It is as if coffee is the big brother figure in my life, telling me that life is worth living and everything's awesome and what not. A sort of encouragement and hope if you will.
When I'm not caffeinated, everything seems bleak and grey, life seem miserable and a big waste of time.

Coffee seem to be the "Kamina" of my life, for the Gurren Lagann reference.
Sad..

Addiction

I started drinking coffee in highschool because there was a Starbucks in the bookstore I used to go loiter on weekends all the time. I really like the taste of it. At least back in the day, that was the reason why I drank coffee daily.

2 shots of espresso in the morning. 2 shots in the evening. Every day.

This continued well into college and post-college years. Until eventually I started having chest pains, so I stopped drinking espresso shots daily.

Only every so often.

But then in the past few years, I've had days where I didn't get access to coffee, I find that I can no longer function as a normal human being. If I have no caffeine intake at all for the day, I become very irritable, and dwell on little things frequently. Become depressed for no reason, and feel a black hole of hopelessness and the feeling of being trapped.

To this end, I feel that I must be addicted to coffee. For without it, I cannot function. At least it's not a narcotic... (;;;>_>)

And so, as advice to anyone under the age of 13, don't start drinking anything addictive until you're at least 20. By then, there's a lesser chance for the substance to enter your bloodstream and become a permanent ingredient in your body's content.

Don't make your life dependent on substances, be it coffee, alcohol or drugs. (T_T)
