Dream Job: Onmyouji 陰陽師

Today at work, it was boring.
And thus, I was thinking about what I want to be when I grow up!

And I thought. I love the occult. I love the concept of spirits and alternate realms. I believe in onmyoudo 陰陽道, and 風水. Naturally, one of my dream jobs would be to become a onmyouji (陰陽師)!

Now I just wonder, how does one get into a field like that?
And is it a modern viable job to earn money?
What qualifications would one need? Maybe there's some sort of test to see if you're skilled enough in manipulating the arcane to achieve various feats....

And no, I didn't just came up with this idea because I watched the movie.

Lazy Day

Lets have a lazy day!
It's snowing again outside.
Time to sleep all day!
And play some bass, and eat spouse-made lava cakes, and poke the cat, and play some WoW, and eat chocolates, and sleep more...

(-_-)..

Injury Day

Well, today was busy at work.
I also inflicted a lot of injuries on myself.
First I dropped a cast iron stove-top on my left ankle. (It's bruised now, not surprisingly)
Then I almost did it again an hour after.
Then within the span of 6 hours, I manage to burn/cut/spill hot oil on my hands and arms.
Later, I got a cramp in my left palm that was the single most painful thing I've experienced on my left hand.

Work is fun.

New hair! Well, kinda new-ish hair.... >.>

Finally took a picture with the new hair. I need to go get it trimmed again, the shaved parts are growing too long, and I still have split ends! (>_<)!

Working in a kitchen again has made my skin all blemmish-y once more, need to remind myself to buy cleansing pads later.

Excuse my housecoat, I didn't want to find fancy clothes just for a photo. ^^;;; This is what I look like at home most of the time anyways.

Huzzah!

Hello, teh world of internetz!
Here I am, blogging again. Let's hope this turns out more successful than my LJ. >.>

I guess I should do some sort of introduction thing, huh. Since unlike Facebook, there's no big About page.

Well, I'm Misque. That's a made up name, because I'm chinese and I don't like my Chinese name. It's phonetically translated into English as "Ng Tsz Chun", which I have no idea how to pronounce, since it only has 1 vowel. @_@ Concurrently I reside in Calgary Alberta, though I wish to move back to Vancouver BC within the next 5 years. Because Calgary really sucks. Everyone's hobbies are limited to alcohol related activities. Drinking. Driving while drunk. Watching movie while drunk. Getting high while drunk. Drinking more while drunk. Dancing badly while drunk. Have long conversations about nothing, while drunk. I don't drink, so I really can't relate with any of these people. It makes me sad to think that they can only enjoy life while drunk.

I'm a pretty big nerd. I think it's a part of being Asian. Though that's a generalization and not all Asians are nerds. We just like things with numbers, no matter what it is, and collecting things. So when you put those two things together, you usually come up with stuff like following shows, collecting trivial facts about fictional lore, knowing everything about many specific topics, collecting pictures, videos, figures, DVDs, games, merchandises... you get the gist.

I'll admit now that I'm おたく. This is my MAL list: http://myanimelist.net/animelist/MisquE
And that's not even half of it, I haven't gone through the database to add more yet. I lurk forums and news sites, I'm sure everyone who spends a lot of time in front of their computer does. I enjoy fixing things, especially mechanical things. I also like experimenting with food. Usually I'm the only person who'll eat the result though. (#_#)

I consider that there's 2 types of people in the world. People who are fans of other people's stuff. And people who make stuff for other people. Usually, the two don't mingle. People who make stuff don't have time to enjoy other people's stuff, because they need all the time they have to promote their products and practice their trade. People who spends all their time being hardcore fans don't have the time or talent to make anything, fanart doesn't count. I myself is a fan who spends all their time enjoying products. I had a phase where I thought I could make something, but nothing ever came to fruitation. Sure, I make small things every now and then, like food, drawings, designs, stories. But I wouldn't consider it a career. I'm happy just being a fan.

Here's some other stuff I'm a big fan of:
- Vocaloid
- Kamen Rider
- Things that smell like oranges
- Objects shaped like food
- IKEA
- Makeup
- いくら
- Cream Soda
- Cats
- PVC Clothing
- Combat Boots
- 萌え
- ツンデレ
- Manly Tears
- Going on epic adventures by myself
- Singing when nobody's around
- Sleeping
- Old World of Darkness
- Sychronized Dancing
- Azerothian Lore
- Watching Trailers (because usually the best parts of the movie are in the trailer)
- Sesame and Taro flavoured stuff
- Purple
- Insects of all kinds
- Deep Sea Fishes
- Mantis Shrimp
- Espresso Truffle from Starbucks

You know what, I think I'm just gonna put one of those favorite-crap memes here, to save me the trouble of having to think about every last thing I'm a fan of. XD

I guess the reason I stopped writing on LJ was because all the people I care to talk to are on Facebook, and Facebook is much faster for simple messages. And even then, if I needed to talk to someone extensively, I'd just type up an email for them. It's more personal that way, and not everyone can eavesdrop on your email like in Facebook.

Hmm. So.. Let's blog about what's on my mind right this second:
Instant coffee. Instant coffee is one of the hardest to make things I've came across. If you use a grain too many, it tastes kinda sour, no matter how much sugar and cafe-mate you put in. If you put too little, then it tastes like McDonalds coffee. Which is like.. brown water. And you can never make it taste like real coffee. EVER! T___T

Fail coffee is fail.
That's all for now, I suppose. じゃ~!
